I joined Emily's Wee Tiny Sock Swap, I couldn't help myself. I figured this was a deadline that even I could achieve. So I did. And I knit a Wee Tiny Sock! These little things are too cute...useless in any functional sense but way too cute.So I decided I should test drive the wee tiny sock...on our wee tiny Italian Greyhound Khemet.
Needless to say she wasn't thrilled. I didn't put the sock completely on her foot (it was a wee too tiny for my wee tiny doggie) as I didn't want to hurt her. I am actually happy that it matches her spring coat. Okay clearly too much time on my hands....
I did wash it before sending it along to my pal, just in case you might be worried......
The yarn is Emily (isn't that funny?) from Posh Yarn. The colour is Sweetshop. This yarn is delicious; 80% Lambswool, 10% Angora and 10% Cashmere. I made a pair of socks with it that are divine (coming soon I promise....). These Wee Tiny Socks are toe up with a short row yarn over heel (it was tough...all two turns of it!).
I can honestly say this was a FUN swap! No pressure, minimal expectation (the sock and a note) and a quick knit. Thanks so much Emily!
While I have still been feeling pretty lousy (chelation is on hold for a bit; too much detoxing - apparently I am quite efficient and my body has to catch up) I have been able to knit more in the last month than I did for about 6 months last year! Woohoo!
The sacrifice has been a conscious choice to limit my time online, either posting or commenting - I have been able to read some and comment on a few but it really does require some cognitive staying power and well, I am trying to find the balance.

My favourite heel. Short row yarn over heel. Love it. Quick and relatively painless. And a great fit. And, it looks great. There is a wonderful tutorial on the technique here from Melinda at Purlwise.The finished socks. Vespers' Crew on 2.5mm needles. 2 socks on 2 circulars. No pattern, just the lovely stripiness that is Vespers (this link is the shop - and yes, it is always sold out). And I have just realized perfect for St. Patricks Day....wait that was yesterday wasn't it. Okay, so I am a bit behind....!

Don't you just love Vesper sock yarn? It's my absolute favorite. Your short row heel is wonderful. I just knit my first ever short row heels this week and I found it challenging and I had holes but I like the way it looks and fits so I'm hoping I can improve my technique.

I love the Wee Tiny Sock! I had so much fun making mine, I think I am going to make some more out of the left overs from all the socks I've knit!
And the Vesper's are too cute! I knit a spring pair myself recently in the Astro colorway! I love the effortless matching of the stripes!

Love the wee tiny sock ... I'm one who usually loves bright colors, but I can honestly say I love the green striped socks. Must be the lime in 'em that attracts me. I went nowhere for St. Patrick's Day but I DID fix the corned beef & cabbage in beer and set up the table in theme. Yummy.
It was also a beautiful day to knit ... or needle felt. BTW, be expecting the book to arrive soon. ;-)

Great socks! The tiny one is so cute, and the striped ones are so... stripey. Very cheerful and springlike. After getting a foot of snow over the weekend I'm for anything springlike.
Thanks for the link to the short-row heel tutorial, too. I do all my heels short-row, but I wrap rather than yo. Despite her various disclaimers I found PGR's instructions hard to follow, so I haven't tried the yo method -- but the tutorial with pix looks very clear. Different learning styles, or something.

Love the stripi-ness that is Vesper. Love the heel too, I cast on for some vesper socks in astro last night. Vesper is my comfort socks! Glad to here your treatment is working!!! yay!!!

Very cute Wee Tiny Sock. Love it, although I see even wee tiny dogs aren't big on socks. Mine isn't either, but the town was so crazy with salt this year.
